Ok, so these aren't exactly evils; they're mostly just disgusting or silly. I suppose I could have named this The Lesser of Two Horrors, but that just doesn't have quite the same ring to it, now does it?
The point is, nobody in their right mind would really want either one...but that can't be an option because...well what fun would THAT be, eh?
Put students into pairs or small groups, give them some or all of the following choices, and make them:
1) choose which they would prefer
2) explain why
Would you prefer...?
a) to be closed up in a sleeping bag with snakes or spiders
b) to lose a hand or a foot
c) to be REALLY hairy all over your body, or to have no hair at all, anywhere
d) to have chronic hiccups, or chronic sneezes
e) to eat worms or cockroaches
f) to be stung by a bee or bitten by a dog
g) to be very homely, or have horrible, incurable bad breath
h) to lose your hearing or your sight
i) to fight a big dog, or a big, angry man
j) to be freakishly tall, or freakishly short
