The Dating Game

We've all seen those TV dating games with 1 girl talking to 3 guys and choosing one date according to how they answer her questions…or some variation of that.

Same premise here...and pretty much the same details.

1) Start off by going over how a dating game works. The students will likely be familiar with it already.

2) Brainstorm a list of questions that might be asked during the pre-date interview, and chalk them up on the board (you might need to think of several of your own first to get them started in the right direction).

3) Set up 4 chairs – 1 facing the board, at the front of the classroom, and the other 3 chairs together in the middle of the class somewhere (positioned so they won't be seen by the interviewer).

4) Choose a boy/girl and put them in the front seat, making empty threats to make them eat chalk, or some other appropriately frightening and ridiculous punishment to be carried out if they were to look back.

5) Quietly choose 3 girls/boys from the class and have them take their places as bachelors/bachelorettes numbers 1, 2 and 3.

6) Let the questioning commence! (Some effort at voice alteration might be in order...this is sure to make it funnier and more fun, even if it doesn't make it more effective).

7) After 3 to 5 rounds of questions, press the interviewer to make their selection. Do they want to go out with 1, 2 or 3? Once the selection is made, have them turn around to see how they fared.
