Why is this site called ESL Genius?

We wanted the site to have a catchy name and ESL Genius seemed to sound a lot better than ESL Idiot.

So do we think we're like geniuses or something?

Definitely not. In fact, no one here even smokes a pipe, most of us have pretty normal hair, and we try to keep the exaggerated diabolical laughing to a bare minimum.

But who are we anyway?

ESL Genius is the English Language Teaching division of Jones Education and Training Inc. We specialize in the creation and delivery of practical, in depth materials and courses.

Well, the short (and smart-alecky) answer is that it’s for English students and teachers. But perhaps the better answer is that it’s for students of ESL/EFL who are ready for lots of relevant examples of the way native speakers truly speak. And it’s for ESL/EFL teachers who run communicative classrooms and are absolutely sick and tired of the same old you know what found in the superabundance of textbooks more fit for kindling than curriculum.
